IU Credit Union was at Ivy Tech-Bloomington for the 15th Annual O'Bannon Institute For Community Service fundraising dinner. The event featured Michael A. Smerconish of SiriusXM Channel 124. Dinner proceeds benefited Ivy Tech's Center for Civic Engagement.
The O'Bannon Institute for Community Service was established in 2004 as an annual opportunity for the community to come together to discuss issues of importance. The event includes a civic engagement awards ceremony, a day of volunteering in the community, the fundraising dinner, panel discussions, and closing conversation.

The Foundation of Monroe County Schools' Real Men Read program places men from our community in Kindergarten classrooms throughout the district. Five times during the school year, volunteer readers, or "MENtors" read aloud to their class. Each student then receives their own copy of the book to keep. Through fun activities and exciting stories, Kindergarteners are encouraged to love reading and take lessons from the books. IU Credit Union is proud to have several MENtors serve in the program!

Bowl for Kids' sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters' largest national fundraiser. Volunteers first form a team, then each person raises around $200 in order to bowl with their team. Because of coprorate sponsorship, all funds raised by bowlers go directly towards supporting children. This year, IUCU employees raised $6,443, in addition to our status as a Match Maker corporate sponsor. We hope to continue to support Bowl for Kids' Sake and the children it serves.
