Bryan Price, President & CEO, IU Credit Union

A Message from the President

2025 was another strong year for IU Credit Union. With the continued trust of our members and the dedication of our employees, we achieved significant operational and financial milestones while continuing to invest in the communities we serve.

During the year, we advanced several strategic initiatives designed to strengthen our long-term capabilities and enhance the member experience. These included selecting Adrenaline as our partner to guide our branch transformation roadmap, migrating our core system to Episys as a Service (EASE), completing a commercial deposit analysis, and refreshing our website to better serve members across generations. We also conducted an employee engagement survey that achieved an 84% response rate and an 85% favorability score, reflecting the strong culture and commitment of our team.

IU Credit Union remains deeply committed to supporting the communities we serve. Each year, we invest more than $300,000 in sponsorships and community contributions to organizations that strengthen our region. Through our scholarship program, we awarded more than $40,000 to help students pursue their college education, and IU Credit Union and its employees contributed $50,474 to the local United Way campaign.

We were honored to be recognized by our members and community once again. In the Herald-Times Best of Btown awards, IU Credit Union was voted Best Credit Union, Best Mortgage Lending Company, Best Investment Firm, and Most Eco-Friendly. We were also proud to be named a Best Place to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce for the fifth time.

These achievements were matched by strong financial performance in 2025. Retail loan balances increased by $45 million, while business loan balances grew by $61 million. IU Credit Union continued to be a leader in real estate lending, originating $100 million in residential mortgages and increasing total real estate balances by $30 million. Overall loan balances grew by $106 million, reaching $1.5 billion.

Share balances increased by $193 million—the largest dollar increase in IU Credit Union’s history—and net income for the year totaled $19 million. Total assets exceeded $1.9 billion, and net worth reached $236 million, representing 12% of total assets.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue investing in technology and services that enhance the member experience. Key initiatives include evaluating and enhancing our digital banking platform, implementing a new online mortgage application and processing system, launching digital solutions for consumer lending and account opening, introducing a new digital payments platform, and conducting a comprehensive facilities assessment to guide the future of our branch network and long-term growth.

We thank our members for their continued trust and support of IU Credit Union.

"Our commitment to our members, our employees, and our community continues to guide IU Credit Union’s growth and success."

Best Places to Work Logo

IUCU Named Best Place to Work in Indiana

IU Credit Union was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana. This 21st annual program was created by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

The statewide survey and awards program is designed to evaluate participating organizations and honor those with the highest levels of employee satisfaction and engagement in the workplace. This year’s list is made up of 150 companies.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Indiana. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process, the Employer Assessment, was worth approximately 20% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process, the Employee Feedback Survey, was worth approximately 80% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Workforce Research Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Indiana, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.

The final rankings will be announced at an awards ceremony on May 13, 2026, and then published in the Indiana Chamber’s BizVoice® magazine after the event.

Image of MemberXP Best of the Best award badges

IU Credit Union has been named a 2026 MemberXP Best of the Best Award winner, earning national recognition for delivering exceptional, data-validated member experiences. The award is presented by CUSG through its MemberXP experience management platform and honors credit unions that consistently translate member feedback into meaningful action.

Now in its 10th year, the MemberXP Best of the Best Awards are considered one of the credit union industry’s most respected benchmarks for experience excellence. These awards are based entirely on direct member feedback and measure how effectively credit unions meet member needs across key moments of the journey.

The 2026 awards are based on analysis of millions of member experience data points collected nationwide using two industry metrics, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and Member Effort Score (MES). Credit unions ranking in the top 25% of performance across each experiential category earn Best of the Best distinction, with IU Credit Union recognized for excellence in the following areas:

By leveraging MemberXP insights, IUCU continuously identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, reduce friction and strengthen member relationships, driving higher advocacy, loyalty and trust.

The MemberXP Best of the Best Awards are presented annually by CUSG to recognize credit unions that set the standard for member-centric leadership and measurable experience excellence.

We’re honored by this recognition and thankful for the feedback our members share with us every day. Your trust and insights help guide our continued commitment to excellence.

Avoid Contractor Scams During Home Renovations

Home renovation contractor

Spring and summer are peak seasons for home improvement projects. Whether you're planning a remodel, replacing a roof, or repairing storm damage, many homeowners begin searching for contractors.

Unfortunately, contractor scams also increase. Taking a few extra precautions before hiring can help protect both your home and your finances.

The Most Common Contractor Scams

1. The “Storm Chaser”

After severe weather, out-of-town contractors often go door-to-door offering immediate repairs.

Some disappear after collecting a deposit. Others complete poor-quality work that fails inspection.

TIP: Be cautious of door-to-door offers following a storm. Get multiple estimates and compare them—if one contractor’s quote is much lower than the others, it may be too good to be true.

2. Large Upfront Payment Requests

A dishonest contractor may ask for a large deposit to “secure materials” or “hold your spot on the schedule.” Once payment is made, the scammer may disappear, repeatedly delay the work, start the project but abandon it before completion, or continue to request additional payments without making any progress.

TIP: Never pay the full amount before work begins.

3. No Written Contract

Some dishonest contractors avoid written contracts so they can change the terms later.

TIP: Always require a detailed written contract before work begins and keep copies of all signed documents and updates.

4. “We Found Extra Problems”

Some dishonest contractors begin work and then claim they’ve discovered hidden issues that require more money.

TIP: Ask for photos and a written explanation, and don’t hesitate to get a second opinion before agreeing to additional work.

5. Insurance Manipulation

After storm damage, some contractors offer to “handle your insurance claim” or ask you to sign documents quickly. In some cases, they ask you to sign documents that give them control over your insurance claim.

Once they have that control, they may inflate repair costs and bill your insurer directly, perform unnecessary or low-quality work, or even take the full insurance payout without completing the job. In some cases, homeowners lose control of their claim entirely and have little say in how funds are used.

TIP: File the claim yourself or work directly with your insurance company and review all documents carefully before signing.

Smart Steps Before Hiring

Whether you’re planning a renovation or responding to storm damage, these protective steps can help:

1. Get multiple estimates.
2. Verify licensing and insurance.
3. Check reviews and references.
4. Never rush.

Smart Payment Practices

How you pay matters just as much as who you hire.

Avoid:

What To Do If You Suspect Fraud

If something feels wrong, act quickly:

Trust Your Instincts

You should never feel pressured, confused, rushed or intimidated.

Home improvements should increase your home’s value, safety, and comfort — not create financial stress.

Taking time to research contractors, review contracts carefully, and use safe payment methods can help protect your home and your finances.

If you have questions about safe payment options, financing a renovation, or protecting your accounts, IU Credit Union is here to help.

IU Auditorium Presents: Beetlejuice

April 10-12 • IU Auditorium

Image of ad for Beetlejuice at the IU Auditorium

IU Credit Union is proud to sponsor IU Auditorium's Beetlejuice.

It’s SHOWTIME! Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. With an irreverent book, an astonishing set, and a score that’s out of this Netherworld, Beetlejuice is “screamingly good fun” (Variety). And under its uproarious surface (six feet under, to be exact), it’s a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!

Don't miss Beetlejuice, coming to the IU Auditorium April 10-12. Recommended for ages 13+. Parental discretion advised.
