We have been made aware of recent phone scams where fraudsters are impersonating the IUCU Fraud Team and claiming there are fraudulent charges on your account. These scammers may ask to send you a text message with a code to validate your identity. The text message will have a series of numbers that you will be requested to provide to the person on the phone. This code allows the fraudster to add your credit or debit card to their mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay) to be used to process fraudulent transactions.
You are your best defense against fraud. Read the text message in full before responding. Valid text messages with codes sent by IUCU to activate a mobile wallet will state to never share the code with anyone.
